• The Center for Restorative Youth Justice is a nonprofit who works in partnership with the community to create meaningful accountability processes and restorative community connections as an alternative to the traditional juvenile justice system.

    At CRYJ:
    • Justice resources are focused on those who have been harmed (vs. what law was broken)
    • Conversations with victims and community members allow youth to focus on what steps are needed to repair that harm (vs. inflicting punishment) allowing victims and youth to move forward
    • We believe that youth are valuable assets who represent the future of our community
  • The Youth Connections program creates opportunities for CRYJ participants to complete restorative community service and other accountability related obligations in a structured and supportive environment.

Here is a taste of some of the things youth are doing in your community through the Youth Connections Program:

Youth Participants helped cheer racers through the 2nd Annual Run Through History in Downtown Kalispell on October 8, 2011.

Youth worked on painting canvas tiles during September for the Peace Day Mural which was unveiled at Two Rivers Akido on September 22, 2011 in recognition of the International Peace Week.

Working side-by-side with volunteers from Montana Conservation Corps, CRYJ youth helped prepare the FVCC/Nourish Community Garden for planting for Global Youth Service Day on April 16, 2011.

Youth created a powerful display that explored the impacts of victimization through art and was featured at Coulter Coffee for National Crime Victim Awareness Week (April 10-16, 2011).
